Key Technology Companies 1st Quarter Earnings - Q1FY2018

As you know, many big technology companies have just completed reporting their first quarter numbers. Almost, every company beat earnings and revenue expectations. It was overall a wonderful quarter. Despite that, the stock markets had lukewarm response, as if nothing really happened. That's really surprising! However, I am still optimistic that investors will realize sooner or later and markets should bounce back. Here are some of the key companies earnings for the the companies in my Blog portfolio for the benefit of blog readers:

Note: Microsoft and Google also came with very good earnings but I have not added those as they are not part of my Blog portfolio.

By Shesa Nayak Welcome to Shesa’s Investment Blog I will have a shorter version of my blog this month.  U.S. Stock Market Update   September happens to be the worst month of the year but we saw an exceptional September with S&P 500 up 3.5% , Nasdaq up 5.6% and Dow rose 1.9% . The market further gained momentum in October but last week the U.S. stock market saw significant volatility. The S&P 500 fell -2.4% , the Nasdaq dropped - 2.5% , and the Dow declined -2.7% , marking their largest single-day percentage drops since April 10 . Shesa's Weekend Stock Market Update - 9|28|25

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to Indian Cricket team for winning the Asia cup!! Stock Market last week This September has been pretty good so far comparing to previous years. Only two more trading days left. Last week the stock market, particularly Nasdaq pulled back a little bit.  The U.S. stocks hit records but dipped weekly: S&P 500 -0.3% ,  Nasdaq -0.7% to 22,484.07; Dow -0.2% to 46,247.29; Russell 2000 +2.16% .  Fed’s Powell speech signaled 1-2 more 2025 cuts but indicated that  a challenging economic situation with inflation risks from tariffs and employment risks from a weakening labor market.  He noted high stock prices contribute to loose financial conditions but won’t drive Fed policy. The stock market is not in a bubble like 1999 .com maniac but I quite did not understand the statement made by Powell about "high stock price". Shesa's Weekend Stock Market Updates - 10|19|25

Welcome to the Weekend Updates As I wrote in my October blog, this month has been volatile. This is not a surprise as it happens most of the year. Last week, the U.S. stock markets experienced volatility due to escalating U.S.- China trade tensions and a prolonged government shutdown which started on October 1.  A sell-off sparked by trade concerns and regional bank credit issues led to a sharp decline mid-week, with the S&P 500 losing 2.4% at its lowest. Markets rebounded slightly by Friday, supported by better-than-expected bank earnings and eased trade concern. Gold hit record highs above $4,100, reflecting safe-haven demand, while the 10-year Treasury yield rose to 4%. The VIX surged past 27, signaling heightened uncertainty. Investors await key data delayed by the shutdown.  Despite all these the Dow Jones was up 1.6%, the S&P 500 was up 1.7% , and the Nasdaq  rose 2.1% for the week.
